Description
The Queensland Art Teachers Association State Conference for 2019 continues the success of last year with even more opportunities for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and practice. QATA exists because of the engagement and contribution of our members. Our primary goal is to connect arts educators, galleries, industry and artists. This year’s conference will provide opportunities to exchange what we know, and to work together to meet the demands of educational change while maintaining visible and vital arts programs throughout Queensland.
QATA EXCHANGE 2019 IS PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY QUT CREATIVE INDUSTRIES.
Choose from the full two day program or select one day to suit your needs.
Friday 19 July - Collaborate and exchange in curriculum and hands-on focused sessions with colleagues to explore contemporary art practice and pedagogy, including implementing culturally appropriate indigenous protocols in the classroom.
Saturday 20 July - A great selection of ever popular hands-on professional development practical workshops and artwork exchange.

Whether you are attending Friday, Saturday or both days, you are also invited to join your colleagues for drinks and networking Friday 19 July at the Roundhouse Theatre, QUT from 5:15 - 7:00pm.
During registration:
Include curriculum-related questions you would like answered by QCAA representatives during the Friday sesssion.

Please nominate a colleague for Life Membership Award for Outstanding Service to Visual Art education in Qld.
This award is presented annually at the State Conference. The recipient will be recognised for his/her contribution to Visual Art Education in Queensland and receive life membership of QATA.
QATA members are encouraged to nominate potential recipients by considering the following criteria:

The recipient will have made a significant contribution to the advocacy of Visual Art Education in Queensland.

The recipient will be a role model within the profession.
An individual need only be nominated once to be considered. The number of nominations received per nominee bears no weight in their selection.

How can I pay?
Attendees can pay by credit card or invoice.
How do I get an invoice for my order?
An invoice will be emailed to you when you select to pay by invoice. Please allow a few days for processing.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, individual conference programs, session allocations and rooms will be provided. Please register on arrival.
Can I attend the drinks and networking event at The Roundhouse Theatre, QUT, on Friday evening if I am unable to attend the conference?

The Queensland Art Teachers Association is a fully incorporated professional association committed to the promotion of the Visual Arts in the field of education. Established in 1961, QATA is managed by teacher volunteers and funded by membership subscription, to network with and service the needs of visual art educators in primary, secondary and tertiary sectors.
